AGILITY VIRTUAL CHANNEL QUICK GUIDE THE AGILITY VIRTUAL CHANNEL (AVC) IS REQUIRED FOR ALL CUSTOMERS. Installing AVC This process explains how to install the AVC on a single machine. Users with AVC version prior to 5.0 will need to uninstall and reinstall the latest AVC. Please refer to the uninstall section for further information. AVC can be downloaded from the Helpful links section on the DMSi portal at https://hosting.dmsi.com or under the Helpful links tab in Hosted Agility Launcher (HAL) 1. Go to hosting.dmsi.com 2. Sign in using your hosting credentials “dmsi\domain.username” 3. Select “Download Virtual Channel” 3. Open the installer. a. If the system asks if you want to allow this app to make changes to your system, click “Yes” or “Allow.” 4. The Agility Virtual Channel – InstallShield Wizard should open, on the first screen click “Next >” 5. Then click “Install” and wait for the installation to be completed. 6. Once it completes, click “Finish.” 7. You should now be able to see Agility Virtual Channel in your local Applications. Updating the AVC This process explains how to Update the current installation of the AVC on a single machine. 1. From the Windows Start menu, search for Agility Virtual Channel Plugin Manager 2. Click on the Agility Virtual Channel Plugin Manager app to open. 3. Click on the Updates tab 4. Click Check for updates now 5. You will then be shown what your Current Version is, and what the latest Web Version is. The Web Version is the latest version available. The Current and Web Versions should match to ensure optimal performance. If versions the Current and Wed versions match, you will see the message “You are currently on the latest version of AgilityVC”. 6. If your Current Version does not match the Web Version, click Yes to start the update. 7. The AgilityVC program will then begin to update 8. Once finished, you will be shown a completion message 9. Click OK to finish Notes: If an update needs to happen, the user will need to log out and back into the DMSI terminal server. This will need to be a log off and not an exit. Uninstalling AVC client Uninstalling This process explains how to uninstall the AVC on a single machine. Users with AVC version prior to 5.0 will need to uninstall and reinstall the latest AVC. 1. Open Control Panel > Uninstall Programs 2. Right click the VC Client and select “Uninstall.” a. If the system asks if you are sure you want to uninstall Agility Virtual Channel, click “Yes.” Note: We recommend restarting your PC after the uninstallation and prior to reinstallation. Troubleshooting Common Errors a user can encounter: 1. The AgilityVC Client is not registered correctly on the client machine. a. (E102c:dll) 2. Windows can’t open this file a. To resolve, first verify the AVC client is installed on the client PC. b. To verify if the AVC is installed: i. Have the user open Control Panel > Uninstall a Program and ii. verify that Agility Virtual Channel shows up in the program list iii. Search for AgilityVC Plugin Manager. iv. If it is not listed, have the end user follow the installations instructions above. 3. Verify the current version of the AVC a. Have user open Agility virtual channel plugin manager and click Help> About. If the AVC is installed, follow these troubleshooting guidlelines: 4. Have the user open the AgiltyVC Plugin Manger. Within the Plugin Manger go to Options. Under Options, Load into all mstsc processes for current user should be checked. If not checked, have the user place a check next to this option and then log out of Agility and the remote desktop and log back in. 5. If the Load into all mstsc processes for current user is checked, go to File > User Preferences > Misc Tab in the Agility Main menu and verify that G:\ftserver\ftserver.exe shows up in the Spreadsheet Viewer field. If not present, click on the browse button next to the field and browse to the g:\ drive, ftserver folder and click on the ftserver.exe file. Then click Save and Close. 6. If G:\ftserver\ftserver.exe is present in the spreadsheet viewer field in the User Preference > Misc Tab > spreadsheet viewer field, and the user is still not able to export, remove the information in the field, click Save and then browse back to the ftserver.exe file and add it back into the spreadsheet viewer field. Click Save and Close. User should be able to export at this time. 7. If the steps performed above have not resolved the issue, have the user log out of Agility and the hosted server. Verify that the user’s session has been removed. Have the user log back into the hosted server and Agility. 8. If all attempts mentioned above have not resolved the issue, have the user follow the steps for uninstalling the AgilityVC client from their PC. Download the AgilityVC client install file and save it to the PC. Find the file (most likely in Downloads), right click it and chose the Run as an Administrator option and complete the install. Once installed, open the AgilityVC Plugin manager and verify that the Load into all mstsc option is checked and then have the user log back into server and Agility and verify that the user is able to Export or File Transfer. |
